Leeds-based 3-piece Drahla caught our attention a while ago with their brilliantly scuzzy single 'Faux Text', which sounded like a young British version of Sonic Youth in their hey day. With some really cool support slots for the likes of Meatbodies and Metz over the last couple of months the growing interest in the band sparked a demand for more recorded music. Luckily, Drahla listened and have dropped another brilliant track alongside news of their debut EP Third Article, which will arrive on the 24th of November. 'Silk Spirit' sees another effortlessly cool vocal performance from singer/guitarist Luciel Brown, which drifts confidently above a wash of discordant effected guitar strums, thudding bass and headbang-inducing drums. The accompanying video invites us to watch the band playing live in a plant-filled warehouse. Drahla will headline London's Shacklewell Arms of the 9th of November. -HLMX
